A360 Desktop is Expiring…How Does That Affect You?

Autodesk is a leader in the cloud technology market, and to maintain that edge, they periodically review what is currently being offered so that they invest energy and resources on products that will offer the most benefit to the most users.

The result of one of those introspective reviews is the decision to discontinue A360 Desktop. The option to terminate this particular service is going to be monitored so the impact on customers using this tool is minimal.

If you are not using the A360 Desktop sync, and you want the expiration notices to end, you can just remove the program. However, if you are currently taking advantage of syncing your files with A360 Drive, there is a special update available. The steps for removing A360 Desktop and updating A360 Desktop follow.

To update A360 Desktop –

  1. Close all Autodesk applications.
  2. Turn off A360 > display the icons in the lower right corner of your Windows task bar by picking the ^ > point at the A360 icon > right-click > chose Exit.

  1. Follow this link to download an updated version of A360 Desktop – https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/downloads/content/autodesk-360-desktop-download-and-release-notes.html. If you are using the Autodesk 2018 products, download and install version 9.5; if you are using any previous version of the Autodesk products, download and install version 7.3. You will need to pick the correct installer for your system type (32-bit or 64-bit).
  2. Once the installation has finished, reboot your computer. When it restarts it will load up the new version of A360, and you should be good to go.
